52 Sundays of REWILDING in 2021
Field Notes from Jess ~ Sunday 1/52 weekend in review:

Hiked 13 miles in 2 days with Silhouette Outdoors and got to an elevation that brought us to the snow. When I go offline and immerse myself in the elements I find that my senses adjust to a more subtle dial. The eyes start to see more detail, the ears pick up the sounds of the birds, coyotes in the distance and the crack of brush when an animal is close. I was startled when a big buck thundered down the hillside just 20 yards of me. This heightened awareness makes feel feel enlivened. On this adventure I took home 2 deer sheds, like finding a needle in a haystack! I was so excited jumping up and down that my binoculars flew up and hit me in the face and knocked me to the ground ðŸ˜‚
I was blessed to just slow down and witness elk grazing...two were even fighting, antlers clashing and that was quite the show! A giant Snowshoe Hair even made a rare appearance when he sprinted away from us, what a thrill! You just never know what you are going to see and experience in the great outdoors. Nature is wild...we were were meant to intimately participate and interact. So after a week of being in the confines of four walls, my spirit has been renewed and my human nature is inspired. This is Rewilding.
