The Forager's Series: The Winter Forest + Cottonwood Salve

February 12 | 10 am to 3 pm

Wildkind Academy Welcomes Guest Instructor Karen Sherwood with Earthwalk Nortwest

Course | $125 (includes $45 materials fee) | Tenino Washington

A walk through the winter forest can offer many blessings. There is an abundance of edible and medicinal plants that can be found at this time of year in the pacific northwest. As foragers, we will explore the various gifts that nature has to offer throughout the seasons. Join local ethnobotanist, Karen Sherwood, to learn plant and tree identification and how to use these beneficial offerings.

During an easy interpretive walk on a local trail, students will have the opportunity to gather cottonwood buds. We will return to the classroom and prepare an amazing salve from previously infused buds. Class participants will be involved at each step of the process and will return home with freshly made salves. You will have all of the resources/handouts and knowledge to repeat the process year after year.

Class is limited to 12 participants. Course details will be emailed upon payment. If you have any questions, use the contact page or email [email protected]
